Copper futures down on soft demand

Copper futures were trading lower during the noon trade in the domestic market on Friday as speculators offloaded their bets to book profits.

Analysts attributed the fall in copper prices to offloading of positions by participants amid muted demand at the domestic spot market. At the MCX, copper futures for September 2019 contract is trading at Rs 452.30 per kg, down by 0.69 per cent, after opening at Rs 442.90, against a previous close of Rs 454.40. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 452.00.
